What will you accept for credit?

Spun will accept CDs, DVDs, and Games in mint condition.  As of April 1st, 2008 we will also accept the above items in scratched condition at a reduced price. Prior to April 1, 2008 Spun rejected scratched discs. Although we cannot offer you full credit for your scratched discs, we will now pay you 25% of the quoted price you would receive for “excellent or mint condition”. Suppose you have promised a DVD worth $10, if it is in scratched condition when we check it in, you will receive $2.50. Prior to April 1, 2008 this DVD would have been rejected and no credit would have been given. In order to be acceptable, the scratches must be light. No gouges, chips, cracks etc. If discs are gouged or have heavy scratches, they will be rejected completely and no credit will be offered.

By promising to sell to Spun, you are willing to accept our policy regarding scratched items at 25% credit. If you send scratched items and your total credit does not exceed your outgoing order total, your credit card will automatically be charged the difference between the offer we made to you at the time of your order, and the 25% credit that you will actually receive. If you would rather have your scratched and/or rejected items returned, please see the help section titled “What if my sell items are rejected?”.

Spun.com cannot accept clearly marked promotional items for credit. If the words "not for sale" or "for promotional use only" are stamped on the artwork or on the disc itself, then obviously these items aren't to be resold. They will not be accepted for credit. Any items without these obvious markings will probably be okay

PLEASE NOTE: All incoming items are checked for accuracy against the UPC code in our database. Multiple versions exist for most items (regular DVD vs. Director's Cut, regular CD vs. import or bonus track version, game on multiple platforms). We always grant credit for the actual item received. Please sell by UPC whenever possible.

We do accept music and movie club discs for a full credit (as long as they're in good condition).  You may type in the Movie Club code just like a UPC to find the particular version. If this doesn’t work, search for these items in our site by 'artist' or 'title' rather than by UPC code. If the track listing and cover are the same, we'll accept the disc.

If you have all the artwork, meaning BOTH the booklet AND the back traycard (which usually contains the track listing), then we can accept your CDs. A lot of people throw out the back traycard, sad to say.  Without this, unfortunately, we wouldn't be able to accept your items.

All product sold to Spun must be in good condition. Items cannot be scratched, cracked, chipped, skipping, or missing artwork. Video games must include all original artwork, however Spun does accept games without the instruction manual. The original game box is not required. Some distributors and labels mark special sale items with a hole punch through the barcode or booklet. Spun.com accepts these "cut-outs" as long as the artwork is otherwise intact and the disc is in good condition. Promotional items, DIVX DVDs and CDRs (recordable CDs) will not be accepted.

Spun.com reserves the right to make these determinations of quality. All used items are inspected and sorted by trained professionals who want what you want: great entertainment at affordable prices. Any trade-ins that are refused or accepted at 25% credit value can be returned to you upon request and at your expense for 30 days.

Catching this before you send your items in to us will save us all a little time and effort. Remember, any items you wish returned to you will have to be shipped back at your expense.
