Frequently Asked Questions (Canadian Customers)

Exchanging & Selling

How do I exchange my used CDs, DVDs and video games?
We've written some step by step instructions (with a cartoon to boot!) to help you get started.

I just want to sell to Spun. Will you send me a box and packing material?
When you BUY and SELL in one order, we send the discs you bought FIRST, so you can reuse that box for your returns. If you are ONLY selling to Spun, we ask that you find an appropriate box on your own. (Try to recycle whenever possible!) You will have 30 days from the receipt of your order to ship the items you are selling to Spun.

Can I mix and match things in my shopping cart?
Absolutely. You can use CDs to purchase DVDs or you can use DVDs to purchase video games and CDs or.well, you get the point. Credit is credit, and we don't place any restrictions on what combinations you buy and sell to us.

How is pricing determined?
The buy and sell prices for used titles are based on supply and demand and fluctuate in real time depending on our stock of a particular item, the current demand, and industry standards. The more copies of a title we have in stock, the less you'll pay to purchase it. The more people who want copies of a title, the more credit we'll give you for it.

I just completed my order and had some credit left over -- but it hasn't shown up in my account. What's up?
Say that, in your order, you sell us $15 USD worth of DVDs and video games and purchase $12 USD worth of CDs. We send the CDs straight to you at no charge -- but the extra $3 USD credit isn't placed in your Spun account until AFTER we've received the stuff you're selling to us. You'll be sent an email to let you know that your trade-ins have been checked in and the credit's been applied.

I have a bunch of credit that's been sitting in my Spun account. Rather than using it to buy more CDs, video games or DVDs, can I get a check instead?
As long as you have at least a trade-in credit of (-$10.00) in your Spun account (excluding promotional credit), you're welcome to 'cash it out' at any time. Just notify our Customer Service Department that you'd like to have your credit removed, and we'll instruct our accounting department to cut and send you a check or make payment to you via PayPal. Spun.com accounts are cashed out at 100% value.

I had a cart full of stuff and now it's gone. What's going on and how do I get my cart back?
Perhaps you stepped away from your computer for dinner or a movie. Because many customers are looking for the same products, shopping carts inactive for more than 90 minutes are emptied, so that the items can be re-shelved and made available for other customers. If only one copy of an item is in stock and that copy was placed in a shopping cart as part of an unfinished order, it will take approximately ninety minutes before that item becomes available again. If it does not reappear on the site after that time, it's possible that somebody else was able to sneak in and buy it during the interim.

Some of the items I was hoping to sell to you don't look all that great. Will you still accept them for credit?
We're sorry to say that Spun.com can only accept items that are in good condition. If the appearance of a CD, DVD or video game is questionable to you, then it's probably something we wouldn't be able to take. Catching this before you send your items in to us will save us all a little time and effort. Remember, any items you wish returned to you will have to be shipped back at your expense.

I got a lot of my CDs from a music club, and when I search for them by UPC code, nothing shows up. Will you still accept these?
Yes, we accept music and movie club discs for full credit. Just search for these items by 'artist' or 'title' rather than by using the UPC code. If the track listing and cover are the same, we'll accept the disc. If you still can't find the disc, just contact our Customer Service Department and we'll give you a real time quote within one business day.

I have some titles I'd like to sell to you that aren't listed anywhere in the site. How do I go about selling them to you?
Items that aren't listed on our site are probably out of print or from a small label. You can always obtain a quote on CDs and DVDs via email. Just type up a list of the stuff you'd like to sell, and contact our Customer Service Department. We'll need the title of each item, plus the artist for CDs. After reviewing the list, we'll get back to you with a credit amount for each trade-in as well as the necessary instructions for sending them to us. (We're sorry, but we are currently only buying video games which are in our database.)

Does Spun.com accept promotional copies of CDs, DVDs, or video games for credit?
Spun.com cannot accept clearly marked promotional items for credit. If the words "not for sale" or "for promotional use only" are stamped on the artwork or on the disc itself, then obviously these items aren't to be resold. They will not be accepted for credit.

Do you accept CDs and DVDs that have a hole punch through the barcode?
Some distributors and labels mark special sale items with a hole punch through the barcode or booklet. Spun.com accepts these "cut-outs" as long as the artwork is otherwise intact and the disc is in good condition.

I have a new cd that is sealed and not played, can I get a little bit more for it?
All cds, dvds and games purchased from our customers are considered pre-owned. Even if you haven't played it, opened it, still has the original price tag on it, etc.... Since quality counts at Spun.com, we guarantee our new items as new. To keep those standards as high as we can and make that guarantee, we can only sell items as 'new' when they're supplied by our distributors of new product.

Does Spun.com accept orders world-wide?
Yes. Spun is currently accepting orders from a select number of countries world wide. We are taking the necessary steps to expand our list of countries soon.

I just placed an order and didn't receive an email confirmation. Does that mean my order didn't go through?
In some cases, yes.but not always. Please contact our Customer Service Department if you haven't received an email within ten minutes of placing your order. Our customer service reps are always able to determine if your email confirmation somehow was skipped, or if your order just plain didn't go through.

Can I add new items to a pre-existing order?
Only if you've ordered or preordered new items. Our system will not allow for additions to be made to used-only orders once they have been placed. Our apologies.

Can I combine orders to save on shipping costs?
Only if you've ordered or preordered new items. We ship used product so quickly these days, that there's just no time to alter used-only orders. If you've ordered new product, just contact our Customer Service Department and we will be happy to attempt to combine the two orders, provided neither of them have been shipped.

How do I cancel my order?
To cancel an order, simply contact our Customer Service Department. If we haven't already shipped your order, we will cancel it immediately. As noted above, we now ship used-only orders very quickly and there's rarely time to cancel such orders.
