Could've Been Better, Could've Been Worse

I had mixed feelings about this movie since it was so hyped up. Also, Heath Ledger died so everyone was saying it was his best performance, etc. My opinion is this: 1. Christian Bale's Batman voice was RI-DIC-U-LOUS! It was terribly distracting and not very well done. Are we supposed to believe that by Bruce Wayne faking bronchitis when he's Batman, no one's the wiser? It was definitely the worst part of the film. 2. Gary Oldman can basically play any role and always leave me happy. 3. I do believe Ledger did an excellent job but I like my Joker more like the comic or the original series. In this movie he wasn't as humorous or playful. I believe Ledger was trying to move away from what Jack Nicholson has already shown us and create his own interpretation. That's fine, but it differed from the way the Joker actually is as a character. Again, I think he did a good job but I feel that a lot of the praise he received for the role was because he is deceased. He got 3 awards for best supporting actor when there were many other very talented actors up for the same thing. Sorry if that makes me sound mean. 4. There were A LOT of continuity errors. I particularly dislike when high budget movies (like Iron Man -which also had several) don't seem to have enough budget for editing or checking consistency. This to me is inexcusable. 5. Aaron Eckhart and the make-up used on him was FABULOUS! One of the best I've seen in a long time. My favourite part of the film.
