Fiery and Explosive
Posted on 01/01/1970 by RN
While their last cd "The Battle of Los Angeles" was their best to date, they pick up with a great collection of cover songs. It's unfortunate that it will be their last studio recording, since singer Zack De La Rocha has quit the band.
They do fiery versions of Afrika Bambaataas'"Renagades of Funk" and MC5s'"Kick out the Jam". They also do stirring renditions of The Rolling Stones "Street Fighting Man", and Bob Dylans' classic of anti-slavery,"Maggie's Farm". Overall, Rage Against The Machine show how much they love these songs, by playing them with the full rage they are known for, with Morello playing his guitars to extreme,Y.tim.K & Wilk providing propulsive backup, and at center, De La Roche sspeaking his hearts' truth. Even though the band said they will continue without De La Roche, they will never reach this intensity again.
