DJ/toaster Macka B dropped the slash from his name on this session, and picked up two part-time partners in Sister Audrey (the title track) and John McLean ("Gone Home"), but otherwise continued performing the same potent protest, cultural and roots material that highlighted his previous releases. Macka B dispels the notion that only contemporary dancehall matters anymore with "Roots Ragga," prophesies the coming apocalypse on "Revelation Time," and otherwise keeps the fiery messages coming. Some cuts, especially "Going Home," had a breezy, vintage sensibility punctuated by tight horn lines. It was another good, occasionally evocative session by the prolific Macka B. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
